Phoenix – Lisztomania (Remixed by Alex Metric)

Lisztomania

The term Lisztomania is referencing the phenomenon of devoted fans rushing the stage to get to their idol. The first recorded instances of this occurring were during the concerts of pianist Franz Liszt during the mid 1800’s, a period in which he was considered by some to be the greatest pianist who ever lived.

Devoted (mainly female) fans would fight over the pianists gloves and handkerchiefs, wear portraits of him festooned to their bodies, and salvage broken piano strings, coffee dregs, and even a burnt cigar butt.

He was like the Tom Jones of the 1800’s.

This is basically my reaction to this song.
