So let’s cut to the chase; here’s his recent statement, H/T to The Hill for bringing it to us:
“This is deadly earnest, man. This is deadly earnest,” the vice president said. “How they can justify, how they can justify raising taxes on the middle class that has been buried the last four years — how in Lord’s name can they justify raising their taxes with these tax cuts.”
Okay. Wow. Thanks, Joe, it’s nice to hear a voice of reason from the other side. But seriously, the man is absolutely right, in all his accidental-truth-telling; the middle class HAS been buried for the last four years. It’s because the current administration is unfriendly to businesses, discourages success, and spends more and more taxpayer money on government programs – some which should be pursued once we have financial stability, and some which just shouldn’t be pursued at all (emergency snow cones, anybody?).
But now Biden has come back and retooled his statements, claiming that “the middle class was buried by the policies that Romney and Ryan supported.” Which ones are those, Mr. Biden? You’d think, if the VP had a real gotcha moment (which would be a first for his entire life, call the family) he wouldn’t hesitate to use it. Which policies? The generic evil Republican policies?
Heads up, Joe, there’s actually a new program by your favorite organization FreedomWorks. You can just tell us which policy it was, and we can go look it up and decide for ourselves whether we agree with you. Really, Joe, it would take five seconds.
But Joe and the Obama campaign probably don’t like that, because it helps their cause so much more to call out the nameless, imaginary policies Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan have supported. Remember, these are two men with a long history of raging economic success. It’s like Harry Reid with the whole “Romney didn’t pay taxes” disgrace. Most people aren’t willing to take that extra time to go look it up, but now there is no excuse. Like I said, it would take five seconds.
Call me a conspiracy theorist, but I doubt such policies exist, and in trying to cover his running-mate’s butt, Joe Biden accidentally threw him under the bus. Bravo, sir, bravo.
Too bad for Obama he missed his opportunity to oust Biden. I think there was a tape dispenser in the Oval Office desk drawer with impressive foreign relations experience.
